In 2005 George Duncan and Zach Sweeney decided they wanted to start a band from scratch. They both had been members in
the same band in earlier years and after going seperate ways they rejoined and together form Disillusioned. The band has gone
through many changes over the years but the first member to join Disillusioned was Brandon Salley(Sarge) on guitar. Between
the three members the writing started. The songs that started coming together had a driving force that was contagious. After
about 6 months Brandon left the band and Jeff Frasier stepped in. After spending some time working on a variety of songs,
another member joined the family. Randy Powers joined the band. After about another 6 months Jeff leaves the band and the
search is on for another lead guitar. A long time friend of Zach's brother decided to give it a shot. Doug Hale joined the
group and very quickly became a major asset to the band. During this period they noticed the sound wasn't just right so in
order for everyone to focus more on their instrument they decided to look for a singer. Doug's good friend Bradley Gardner
decided to come and try out. From the moment he started singing, the band knew he was the perfect fit. Soon after Bradley
joined the band Randy parted ways and once again the band was down to four. After many discussions they decided to leave it
at four and bradly would play guitar as well as sing. For a year and a half Disillusioned started gaining momentum and respect
around the tri-cities. Then, once again, greif strickend the band by the abrupt departure of Bradley. After Bradley left,
the band was on hiatus for about 4 months then along came Sherald Jennings on guitar. Now, being back to a four peice, the
band started gigging again with Doug singing. Another year and a half of gigging followed, everywhere from Morristown, TN,
to Glade Springs, VA, and all points between. The momentum and following that the band had once had was built back up and
surpassed. Unfortunately, Sherald left the band in August of 2009. But there would be no hiatus this time. Scott Javens immediately
stepped in on guitar and Disillusioned didn't miss a beat. The band is gigging more than ever and is also in the process of
writing new material. The band's musical taste ranges from one end of the spectrum to the other. The band Also opened for
national acts such as: Savoy Brown, Bullet Boys,Britney Fox,Firehouse and numerous others From sounds compared to that of
Zepplin to Metallica, Disillusioned has formed hard/melodic/rock genre all its own and will be around for years to come. |
